Letsch intervenes with Vitesse: Must change something immediately, were not going to continue

Trainer Thomas Letsch lost again with Vitesse on Friday night and the Arnhemmers were again easily fooled. Excelsior pulled the trigger three times, causing the club to get eight hits in two duels. For Letsch, the measure is full and the German will intervene immediately.
Due to the poor goal balance, Vitesse is last in the Eredivisie. The German trainer did not hold back at the end of the competition. โ€œWhat made us so strong two years ago was that we were defensively stable,โ€ says Letsch to De Gelderlander. โ€œIf you defend this way, it becomes very difficult to win a match. It‘s so easy to score against us.โ€
It took only twenty minutes for Vitesse to face a 2-0 backlog: Reda Kharchouch took care of both hits. Letsch especially denounces the weak effort and decisiveness of his team. โ€œThe core of football is winning duels. Winning duels in order to score yourself. Winning duels to defend your own goal. We’
re not good at either one. What we showed as a team was terrible.โ€
Letsch has seen enough after two games and is going to take a different approach. โ€œThe Excelsior players defended with everything they had in them. One thing is clear: we cannot continue like this. Something absolutely needs to change immediately. From now on, we will incorporate that fighter mentality in every training session,โ€ concludes the practice master.
