Letter 1 ‘Fireworks Prohibition not to enforce’

Many letter writers doubt whether the fireworks ban will work and think that it will be counterproductive (WUZ, 16/11) says Jan Oosterhof.

For years, police and other aid workers have been calling for a ban. Now it is carried out under the guise of a coronameasure. For a long time there were fireworks rules, which were massively violated and which were not acted against. Only a ban would work. So now the police will have to show that they can control it, because they have the ban they wanted. We will take stock of the first January and hear the new apologies for why things went wrong.
