Lewandowski gives text and explanation after statement: Im not signing a new contract

Where Bayern Munich Technical Director Hasan Salihamidzic indicated before the match against VfL Wolfsburg (2-2) that Robert Lewandowski is not renewing his contract, the Polish striker confirms this after the game itself. After eight years, the goalgetter is ready for a new challenge.
Bayern has made every effort to keep Lewandowski, but the attack leader is putting an end to all rumours after the last Bundesliga round of play. “I‘m not signing a new contract,” he says to the German branch of Sky Sports. “I said that if there is an offer, we should think about that. Also for the club. Both parties have to think about the future. That’s all I can say.”
Lewy‘s current contract continues until the summer of 2023, which means that a longer stay is not excluded. The protagonist can live with it if he plays in Bavaria for one more year. “That seems clear to me, I still have a contract for one year. But I said we need to find the best solution for both parties. We have to wait and see what happens now,” says Lewandowski.
Salihamidzic and his family have to choose whether the Pool will be sold this summer, or walk out the door transfer-free next year. “It is very possible that this was my last match for Bayern,” explains Lewandowski in front of Viaplay’
s camera.
