Lille races for Ligue 1 title, Newcastle hands out thump to Leicester

Lille OSC has done excellent business in the battle for the Ligue 1 title. A visit to RC Lens was won with 0-3. Burak Yilmaz was the big man, with two goals. In England, Newcastle United handed a big punch to Leicester City.
RC Lens – Lille OSC 0-3Lille knew what to do when visiting Lens: there had to be won to keep the leading position in the Ligue 1 after this weekend. The men of trainer Christophe Gaultier did that convincingly. After more than ninety minutes of playing there was a 0-3 final score on the scoreboard. The great man was Orange executioner Burak Yilmaz, who with two hits created a 0-2 stand at rest.
Lille was assisted by Clément Michelin. The Lens midfielder grabbed his second yellow card in the 35th minute and was able to take a shower. After about an hour of play, Jonathan David took care of the 0-3, and the victory left Lille four points apart from direct competitor Paris Saint-Germain, which will take action against Stade Rennes this weekend.
Leicester City – Newcastle United 2-4Newcastle United has hit Leicester City. The team of manager Brendan Rodgers, currently third in the Premier League, hit a 0-4 gap against Newcastle due to goals of Joseph Willock, Paul Dummett and Callum Wilson (2x). The home team managed to strike back two more times via Marc Albrighton and Kalechi Iheanacho, but thats what it was.
The defeat will allow Chelsea to climb over Leicester to third place in the Premier League this weekend. The Blues take on Manchester City, a taste of the Champions League finals later this season.
