Lionesses Humiliate Cyprus

The Dutch football women won the World Cup qualifier against Cyprus without too much effort. Womens football is still in its infancy on the island and it was clear: 0-8.
The Orange Lionesses only took twenty minutes to show that they were going to win without any problems. Vivianne Miedema, Daniรซlle van de Donk and Jill Roord came on the scoreboard and a Sherida Spitse stake still fell on the pole. However, it took until the second half before another goal fell.
Roord was allowed to make her second of the night in minute 49 and that led to another goal-rich phase. Lieke Martens set her own goal less than a minute later by giving the ball tight ahead and one hundred and eighty seconds after that 0-5 Roord completed her hat-trick. Through Joรซlle Smits and a powder by Merel van Dongen, the counter ended up 0-8.
The Netherlands will remain a leader in Group C with seven points out of three games. Only Belarus, who only played one game and managed to win, could still pass the formation of national coach Mark Parsons. The chances of that happening, however, are not that high.
