LIVE: Orange recovers and takes point in first European Championship match (closed)

The final against Denmark in Enschede is 1798 days ago, now the Orange Lionesses can defend their European title. Sweden is the first opponent of the European Championship in Sheffield and Football First reports live on the opening game.
The Netherlands and Sweden have crossed swords more often in recent years. During the 2017 golden European Championships, the Dutch won convincingly in Doetinchem: Lieke Martens and Vivianne Miedema decided the quarter-final game. Two years later, both countries played the semi-final of the World Cup and Jackie Greens became the match winner in overtime.
Sweden immediately seems to be the toughest opponent in the pool phase. Portugal – which did not make it to the European Championships at first but benefited from Russias disappearance – and Switzerland are the next opponents for Mark Parsons squad.
The line-up: Van Veenendaal; Wilms, Van der Gragt, Nouwen, Janssen; Roord, Groenen, Van de Donk, Spitse, Martens; Miedema.
