Liverpool is struggling but wins and raises pressure on Manchester City again

Liverpool has stepped up the pressure on Manchester City frontrunner again. It fulfilled its sporting duty by winning out at Aston Villa. That was not easy: 1-2.
The game at Villa Park was a reunion with his old club Liverpool for Villa manager Steven Gerrard. Manager Jürgen Klopp responded this week in the affirmative to the question whether Gerrard would be able to follow him up in the long run. “Yes, why not?”
Gerrard, of course, was the first to cheer Tuesday night when Douglas Luiz opened the score after four minutes. The celebration didnt last very long: three minutes later, Joel Matip equalized again. Liverpool played a difficult game at Villa Park and didnt take the initiative anywhere.
Only after the hour did Liverpool get ahead with a goal by Sadio Mané, which turned out to be worth gold. Villa still got some chances, but didnt score. Liverpool and Manchester City are at 86 points, but the latter club still has one game owed.
