‘Liverpool talks with injured players: new contract for Van Dijk’

Liverpool plans to start contract negotiations with Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho in the coming months. Both players are currently injured, but that does not prevent the club from talking about a new contract.

Fabrizio Romano, transfer expert at Sky Sport Italia, knows that Van Dijk and Fabinho will be presented with a new contract proposal in a while. “They want to renew Van Dijk‘s contract, they want to keep it in the future,” says Romano in the Here We Go Podcast. “They will start with the talks and have now contacted Van Dijk’s manager.”
Not only for the Dutchman a new contract is ready at Liverpool, Fabinho can also look forward to a new offer in the coming period. The Brazilian, who, like Van Dijk, stands on the side with an injury, is seen as one of the pillars of The Reds. “I expect Liverpool to start negotiations with him in the coming months,” concludes Romano.
For Van Dijk the season seems to be almost over. The Dutchman tore off his cruciate ligament after a charge of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in the Merseyside Derby.
