Man assaulted in Amsterdam, police think about gay related violence

At Sloterdijk station in Amsterdam on Friday a man was assaulted by a group of youths. According to the police it was gay related violence.

The man was called around 2:30 pm by a group of young people. According to the police they scolded him for being gay. When the victim said something about this, a fight ensued in which the man was kicked and beaten.

The victim was slightly injured, but did not have to go to the hospital, AT5 reports. The youths ran away after the incident.

The police take the assault very seriously. Witnesses are asked to report, NH Nieuws writes.
