A man (27) from Wales crashed his sports car at a peak speed of 240 km per hour in no time. Sadly detail: the British had just won the top car at a lottery. “People want me dead.”
Adam Griffiths is experiencing an unforgettable week, on several levels. First he won a red Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX worth about 50,000 euros. But after a few hours on the road, he had kicked the gas pedal too deep. He clapped into a wall not far from his home in southern Wales. “Fortunately, my passenger was not injured. The car is replaceable, but some other things are not,” he said afterwards according to British media.
The man had won the car in a lottery (‘Dream Car Giveaways’). He stabbed his hand directly into his own bosom. “It‘s my fault, I hurt myself in this crash and I have to accept the consequences.”
In the meantime, he deleted his Facebook account because the number of hate responses was no longer possible. “There were people who harassed me and people who contacted my mother to tell me I had to die. It’s all because I won that car. If I had just paid for it myself, no one would be interested.”
