Manchester United has reached the eighth FA Cup finals at the expense of archrival Liverpool. Bruno Fernandes, who was invaded by Donny van de Beek, made the decision with a free kick: 3-2.
Liverpool, which did not win five times in a row in the Premier League, was unable to reverse the negative spiral on Old Trafford. Mo Salahs opening hit in the first half was quickly destroyed by Mason Greenwood, after a crosspass by Marcus Rashford.
Shortly after the break, Rashford made the 2-1 on Greenwood, but Salah drew the stand again in a phase where Liverpool dominated for a moment. United goalkeeper Dean Henderson kept the Egyptian from scoring a little later.
The insertion of Fernandes after more than an hour, before the inconspicuous Van de Beek, had an effect on the home team. The Portuguese shot a free kick in flawlessly. In the final minutes, Edinson Cavani was still on the pole.
Manchester United is now getting ready for a home duel with West Ham United. Leicester City, who won 3-1 at Brentford earlier in the day, hits Brighton & Hove Albion.
