‘Martínez move takes shape: Ajax talks to Arsenal, fifty million remains the demand’

Ajax will sit down with Arsenal next week to talk about a possible transfer from Lisandro Martínez. The Gunners are hopeful of winning the battle to win the Argentine, but Manchester United currently has the best papers, reports The Athletic.
From the outset, the Amsterdammers demand a sum of fifty million euros, which seems to be placed on the table. United recently saw a bid of 45 million euros rejected by Ajax, but has not given up yet. Both Arsenal and United expect that a personal agreement should not lead to problems.
According to The Athletic, The Mancunians are in pole position, due to the fact that Erik ten Hag is manager. It is reported that Martínez has already made it known internally at Ajax that he would love to go to the Premier League. In that context, a departure of the Argentine seems imminent. Martínez has been playing in Amsterdam since the summer of 2019 and has played 118 official duels for the club to date.

🚨 Arsenal scheduled to meet Ajax next week as Lisandro Martinez battle continues. #AFC + #MUFC both think hes keen & personal terms no issue. If Ajax get what they want (~€50m fixed), 24yo must pick. Ten Hag factor key but race still open @TheAthleticUK https://t.co/aqnwpOK3yH
