Mauro Júnior took the next step in his recovery on Thursday. The PSV‘er appeared on the training field, but still trains individually.
Mauro was injured at the end of June and is still on the side with a groin injury. Trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij hopes to have him again soon, but will have to be patient: it is not in line with the expectation that Mauro will be ready to play in the short term. He did reappear on the field on Thursday, reports the Eindhovens Dagblad.
Mauro threatened to fall between shore and ship at PSV, but Van Nistelrooij’s predecessor Roger Schmidt saw him as the ideal left-back, where the Brazilian eventually flourished. Mauro still has a contract with PSV until the summer of 2025 and has already been rented out to Heracles Almelo by the Eindhoven club.
At PSV, Mauro Júnior is back on the field. Individually in training, though. Trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij will have another press talk tomorrow and we will ask how the state of affairs and forecast is now.
