Liverpool supporters must grant Georginio Wijnaldum his dream transfer to FC Barcelona. That says former international Danny Murphy, who admires the Orange-International.
Wijnaldum has an expired contract at Anfield and has been linked to FC Barcelona for almost a year, where Ronald Koeman is waiting for him with open arms. “I understand that people are wondering why the hell Wijnaldum would want to leave Liverpool, because they belong to the best clubs in the world, but he is thirty years old and can play under Koeman again, with whom he is very, very good,” responds Murphy at TalkSport.
Liverpool‘s former player suspects that Wijnaldum wants to pursue illustrious compatriots like Koeman and Johan Cruijff with Barça. “In the Netherlands, many players look up to these people. Perhaps Barcelona is the dream club of Wijnaldum, perhaps he feels that his role at Liverpool is becoming increasingly marginalized. He plays almost always, but Liverpool has won new players for nothing. As a Liverpool fan, I would be very grateful to Wijnaldum. “It’s done a terrific job.”
