Memphis to Camp Nou: FC Barcelona and Lyon agreement on a million-dollar deal

Memphis Depay makes the transfer from Olympique Lyon to FC Barcelona. De CCeit reports this late Monday evening. Memphis will be reunited at Barcelona with trainer Ronald Koeman, with whom he worked successfully at Oranje.

The transfer involves a fixed amount of EUR 25 million. After this season, Barcelona will transfer a further EUR 5 million to France and a bonus of two million has also been agreed, the newspaper knows. Barcelona hopes to announce the transfer of Memphis later this week. The attacker was tipped off by Koeman to the Spanish club management. Shortly after Koemans presentation, Memphis was linked to Barcelona.
Memphis still had a one season contract with Lyon. The French club was eager to continue with his star attacker, who saw it differently. De CCeit writes that Memphis wants to revenge in Barcelona for his failed period at Manchester United. He made an impression at PSV, but in England it did not work out. He was often associated with peripheral issues and performance on the field was lacking.
Memphis (26) is the first reinforcement since Koeman joined Barcelona. The club already captured Miralem Pjanic (Juventus), Matheus Fernandes (Sporting) and Trincão (Sporting Braga) last season
WijnaldumAccording to De CCeit, there is little chance that Georginio Wijnaldum will also make the switch to Camp Nou. The midfielder had a good talk with Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp last week and can extend his contract at Anfield until 2023. We are still waiting for a formal offer.
