Olympique Lyon lost the leading position in the French competition in the twentieth round. Captain Memphis Depay‘s team went down with 1-0 against FC Metz. Lyon now has 40 points, two less than Paris Saint-Germain and Lille, who won earlier this weekend.
It’s the second defeat this season for Lyon. Last week the team also lost 2 points with the 2-2 against Stade Rennes. PSG won on Saturday with 1-0 from Angers. OSC Lille defeated Stade de Reims with 2-1
Lyon got opportunities in the first half through Karl Toko Ekambi. In the second half Tino Kadewere and substitute Maxwel Cornet were close to a hit. Ekambi seemed to give his team the lead in the 74th minute, but the goal was rejected because of offside play.
In the last minute of the official game time, substitute Aaron Leya Iseka made the only goal of the match at Farid Boulaya.
