Mertens is indeed on its way to Turkey, negotiations are in full swing

Dries Mertens will almost certainly continue his career in Turkey. The former player of Napoli, PSV and FC Utrecht, among others, negotiates Galatasaray, confirms the Turkish superpower.
Galatasaray already sparked rumors about the arrival of Mertens, by hinting at the Belgian attacker on Twitter. Now the club confirms that they are negotiating with the Belgian international. Galatasaray will not just share that with the world: it can be assumed that Mertens is leaving for Istanbul.
This takes the 35-year-old attackers career an unexpected turn. When it became clear that Mertens was leaving Napoli, he was first mentioned at AS Roma and the Royal Antwerp by Marc Overmars and Mark van Bommel, among others. Mertens is transfer-free, so Galatasaray does not have to pay a transfer fee for him.
Mertens played with Napoli for a total of nine years, where he grew into a greatness. Prior to that, the man from Leuven was active at PSV and Utrecht. It looks like Mertens will sign a one-year contract in Turkey, with the option for another year.
