Lionel Messi refuses coronavirus test and will not be at Koeman first training

It doesn’t look like Lionel Messi and FC Barcelona are going to get closer for the time being. According to several Spanish media, the Argentine star player will not have a coronation test on Sunday – as required – nor will he appear at the first training of Barcelona led by Ronald Koeman.

The Barcelona selection meets for the first time on Monday, but must first have a coronation test done. Messi’s father and agent, Jorge Messi, has already informed Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu that a registered letter will be sent to Camp Nou today or tomorrow with the announcement that Messi will not report to the club.

Barcelona won’t let Messi go

On Tuesday, relations between the Argentinean and Barcelona were sharpened when Messi’s management informed the board of the Catalan club that the attacker wants to leave.

Messi wants his contract, which runs until the summer of 2021, to be terminated immediately. According to him, this would also be possible because it contains a clause allowing him to leave at the end of each season.

The new trainer Koeman said earlier that he would like to welcome Messi at Camp Nou. He should become “the pillar of his project”.

According to Messi’s lawyer, precisely because of that clause, the soccer player also has every right to skip the coronation test and training, because it has already been announced that Messi wants to leave. Therefore, it would not make sense if the Argentine appears at the club, according to the lawyer.
