Mexicans stunned: national coach fails to show up to public training

Mexico‘s national coach Gerardo Martino missed national team training because he was watching Argentina against Honduras. This is reported by various Mexican media. As a result, the elector did not appear at the training and later explained why he was not there.
The training was to prepare for Mexico’
s friendly game against Peru. In Martino‘s absence, assistant trainer Jorge Theiler was now in front of the group. The national coach himself is an Argentine, which is why he is blamed for a lack of dedication and commitment by the Mexican people. The country is preparing for the World Cup, in which they will also face Argentina as an opponent. Saudi Arabia and Poland complement Pool C.
Peru was defeated by the Mexicans in the exhibition game. Hirving Lozano scored the only and thus winning goal. Santiago Gimenez started out as a switch, but was still allowed to fill in. Edson Álvarez did start in the basic eleven.
Later, Martino provided information and explanations about missing public training. “It was wiser to watch the Argentina game than to lead the training,” says the rehearsal master quoted by Ruetir at the press moment. “Four or five weeks ago, I was told that there would be public training today. But we normally do tactical training on such a day and we did that a day earlier. It’
s a shame for the fans who came just for me.”
