There was confusion on the network about “Morbius‘” attitude to the Marvel movie sidestepped due to an interview by Tyreese Gibson (“The afterburner”). Thus, the actor stated that the film with Jared Leto refers to the MCU, and the film itself is being moved from January to October 2022 to be released under Halloween. A short time later, Sony responded to the actor’s statement, advising that no transfers are planned and the film is not part of Marvel‘s film, affecting only the events of Sony’s film with Spider-Man characters.
Why Gibson initially stated otherwise — it‘s unclear, perhaps the actor once again spoilered the project’s connection to other Marvel films through the multiverse that is set to appear in a new picture about Peter Parker. Morbius is still set for release on January 28, 2022.
