Most expensive transfer between two Portuguese clubs a fact: Porto brings in Carmo

SC Braga and FC Porto finalized the most expensive transfer between two Portuguese clubs ever on Tuesday night. David Carmo makes the switch to Porto for at least twenty million euros, the clubs announce through the official channels.
Via bonuses, the transfer fee can be up to 22.5 million euros. Only 22-year-old Carmo received his youth education at Benfica and joined Braga‘s O17 team in 2016. In 2020, the defender made the move to Braga’s first team. At the end of last year, the player was out of line for a long time due to an ankle fracture, but last season the player managed to get to eleven appearances in the Portuguese league and five duels in the Europa League.
Carmo signs a five-year contract with Porto. Braga finished the season fourth in the Portuguese league, Porto became national champion with six points ahead of rival Sporting Portugal. Furthermore, the top club announced that the purchase option on Stephen Eustáquio will be explained. The midfielder has been rented from Paços de Ferreira for a season and will cost around three and a half million euros.
