Wiljan Vloet, former trainer of Sparta Rotterdam, finds it understandable that Feyenoord trainer Dick Advocate has not yet spoken to Steven Berghuis about his red card from last week against Vitesse. Vloet also states that Orkun Kökcü is not yet ready for the step to Italy.
Berghuis took a direct red card in the match against Vitesse, after he shoved Maximilian Wittek from behind. He therefore misses the matches against ADO Den Haag and Ajax. “Feyenoord is not looking for the conflict with Berghuis, he is the only diamond of the club,” explains Vloet at FC Rijnmond about the situation of Berghuis in De Kuip. “He is brought to the finish line on a silver platter. Feyenoord needs money.”
Dick Lawyer keeps aiming fourth place. As a result, Feyenoord would not have to prepare for the play-offs for European football after this season. “I think its good that he keeps on doing that,” says Vloet. “In the past year, Feyenoord has had a fantastic final sprint, this year they are actually performing more realistically.”
The former Sparta trainer concludes with advice to Kökcü, which is linked to a transfer to the Italian AC Milan. “No, Kökcü is not ready for that. He didnt continue last years line. You have to go there as an arrived player.”
