Peter Hyballa can get back to work as a trainer. The German has signed a contract with the Slovak AS Trencín, which will ring a bell with several Feyenoorders.
Hyballa has had a turbulent season: in August, his much-publicized resignation from Esbjerg became official, and his trainer job at Türkgücü München also lasted no more than two months. In the period after that, Hyballa was involved in television work, writing and taking courses, among other things. Now the former coach of NEC and NAC Breda is getting a new chance as head coach: at Trencín, he signs a one-year contract.
In the Netherlands, Trencín is best known for taking down Feyenoord in the 2018 Europa League preliminaries, when the Rotterdammers faced an embarrassing 4-0 defeat in Slovakia. Only a handful of players from that team are still playing at Trencín.
In the last season, Hyballas new club became first in the Slovak relegation pool, bringing it back to the highest level next season. Trencín will not be active at European level.
