Erwin Mulder doesnt think the level of the Dutch Eredivisie-keepers is bad. Yet recognizes the goalie of sc Heerenveen that there are no Dutch goalkeepers of world level in the Eredivisie active sense.
“We dont have Oblak, De Gea or Neuer. Wereldtoppers”, says Mulder in conversation with the Algemeen Dagblad. “But I do not think the level of the Dutch goalkeepers in the Eredivisie is wrong. Look at Marco Bizot, Sergio Padt, Joël Drommel and Remko Pasveer. And theres talent coming. I estimate Justin Bijlow very high.”
Mulder himself has been under the bar for many years in the Eredivisie. He went on a foreign adventure once, at Swansea City. English football made a big impression on Mulder. “Ive seen all those stadiums. Anfield, Liverpool. Man, thats powerful. With the Espionhead. That immense bleachers. The sports experience in England is so great. So much bigger than in the Netherlands.”
