Several people were killed in a shooting in a shopping mall in Copenhagen, reports Danish police. A 22-year-old Dane has been arrested for involvement in the case.
The police do not rule out a terrorist motive and are currently investigating it. It is also being investigated whether other people were involved in the incident, but there are no indications for that as yet, according to the police.
These are images of what happened inside. They are verified by DecceIt:
A witness tells Danish daily Jyllands-Posten that shots were heard and people fled en masse. Footage also shows people leaving the mall in panic.
Police recommend that anyone who was at the mall today and is unharmed call their family or friends to reassure them.
YouTube
A possible name of the suspect circulates on social media and refers to a YouTube account. It has not been confirmed that account belongs to the suspect. Three videos were uploaded to the account on Friday, showing how a young man wields a weapon similar to the one currently used. Among other things, he puts it against his head.
In one of the videos, the man wears a sleeveless shirt that looks like the clothes the suspect was wearing. The videos are titled “I don‘t care”.

In response to the events, a reception of the Danish Crown Prince Frederik has been canceled, the royal family reports in a statement. Frederick would be present at a reception on the royal yacht in Sønderborg in honor of the Tour de France, the first three stages of which were in Denmark.
The Tour de France announced in a statement on Twitter that it is “shocked and saddened” by the shooting incident and to sympathize with the victims and their families.
In the Royal Arena, near the mall, British singer Harry Styles was scheduled to give a concert tonight. Long was unclear whether that would take place, but around 9:45pm the concert organiser reported to the audience present that the concert has been cancelled.
abhorrence
Several Danish politicians express their horror at the event. Copenhagen’s famous Tivoli theme park has announced that American Independence Day celebrations will not take place on Monday. A fireworks display in the park has also been canceled.
