In the English city of Plymouth, emergency services have been massively torn out in connection with a serious shooting incident. Police say that multiple deaths have been killed and people were injured too. Numbers have not yet been disclosed. The situation is under control, according to the police.
Not much is known about the background of the shooting yet. British media report shots and loud bangs have been heard. The police are calling people to stay inside. Roads around the residential area where shot were dropped off.
A reporter of British newspaper The Times says five or six people died. The suspected shooter would have also been shot. The police haven‘t said anything about this yet.
Local Conservative politician Johnny Mercer says the incident has nothing to do with terrorism. Nor does he think there’s no suspect on the run.
Priti Patel, the Interior Minister, has also responded. “The Plymouth incident is shocking and my thoughts are with the people affected by it. I call on everyone to stay calm, follow police advice, and let our emergency services do their job,” she writes on Twitter.
