NAC Breda, just like Cambuur and Roda JC Kerkrade, scored its second win of the season in the first division. Coach Maurice Steijn’s team won 2-0 at Helmond Sport. Lex, who came over from ADO Den Haag, made his debut for NAC.
After a handball by Guus Joppen, NAC got a penalty kick in the 29th minute and it was used by Huseyin Dogan. Invader Sydney van Hooijdonk decided to continue the game in injury time with a shot through the legs of goalkeeper Stijn van Gassel.
Spectacular victory Almere
Almere City won spectacularly at Excelsior: 4-6. The Almeerders are behind the SC Cambuur, NAC and Roda JC Kerkrade in the top of the first division with four points, as many as Telstar.
Halfway through, the score was already 3-4. Those seven hits were made in 37 minutes. The last three goals fell from the 86th to the 88th minute. Belgian Xian Emmers took care of 3-5, Elías Már Ómarsson brought the tension back with his third hit of the afternoon and the final word was to Tim Receveur 4-6.
FC Den Bosch defeated FC Dordrecht 2-1 on Sunday. Paco van Moorsel scored the winning goal five minutes before time. The visitors lacked coach Harry van den Ham on the bench. He had a slight raise and stayed at home as a precaution because of the coronavirus rules. Assistant coach Ben Kinds took the honors in Den Bosch.
