NAC decides ‘dress rehearsation’ of Kleine Classics in first 20 minutes

NEC and NAC Breda seem to meet in the playoffs for promotion/demotion and played against each other on Monday night. NAC decided De Kleine Classical already in the first twenty minutes.
The guests from Breda had to do without head coach Maurice Steijn, who stayed in home quarantine after his much-talked Ibiza trip. Hans Visser observed the honors in De Goffert and saw that NAC was on roses early in the first half. After ten minutes Kaj de Rooij decorated a penalty kick, which was promoted to 0-1 by Mounir El Allouchi. Not much later, Sydney van Hooijdonk was allowed to dock from just outside the penalty area: his beautiful free kick meant the 0-2.

It remained there in the remaining seventy minutes. NAC got plenty of opportunities to build up the lead, but goalkeeper Mattijs Branderhorst kept the damage limited for NEC. Just before time, DJ Buffonge’s 0-3 was disapproved. If both clubs remain fifth and sixth in the Kitchen Champion Division, they will repeat again on Saturday 15 May. However, NAC can still catch up with Go Ahead Eagles and Almere City: the backlog on numbers three and four is only one point. NEC defends a three-point lead over FC Volendam during the last two rounds.
