NAC has a wonderful evening, Excelsior also starts with a big win

NAC Breda started the new season in the Kitchen Champion Division with a 6-1 victory over Jong AZ. Excelsior also got off to a flying start: the Rotterdammers won with the same numbers at Jong PSV.

Jong AZ didn’t leave without a visit to NAC at first. After just under fifteen minutes, keeper Nick Olij had to stretch to tap a header from Thijs Oosting to corner. Shortly thereafter, however, Huseyin Dogan opened the score on the other side. He received the ball after the head-through, first tapping it against Maxim Gullit’s hand, but then shot it.

In the 23rd minute, ball loss in the midfield of Kenzo Goudmijn, like Gullit (Ruud) the son of a former professional soccer player (Kenneth), led into the 2-0. Mounir El Allouchi was allowed to move up freely and let 18-year-old Beau Reus, one of the three debutants in professional football at Jong AZ, fish with a knockout from outside the penalty area.

Hard bearing

Not before the first half hour had passed, the 3-0 was already on the scoreboard. Finn Stokkers correctly estimated the value of a beautiful Dion Malone stitch pass. A hard hit for Jong AZ, which until then had been a good match and played well.

The bar stood in the way of a hit by Joshua Bohui, a fate that also hit the agile lob of Young AZ-invasor Yusuf Barasi. The home crowd – some 3,700 fans were allowed to witness the first evening of the season’s NAC – was once again able to make themselves heard when, after Giant fogged in, Bohui found the far corner at a corner kick

Half dozen for Excelsior

Excelsior was also strong earlier in the evening. The Rotterdammers treated young PSV to a 6-1 home defeat.

Ahmad Mendes Moreira put the visitors on the right track after only five minutes, although it took another half hour before Joรซl Zwarts doubled the margin.

FC Eindhoven opened Friday evening the new season in the first division with a 2-1 victory at Jong FC Utrecht. SC Cambuur, which was at the top of the league last season when the competition was shut down due to the corona crisis, won at home 2-0 against NEC.
