Nagelsmann about remarkable miss Zirkzee against Ajax: ‘He knows it’

Joshua Zirkzee signed the most striking moment of the game during the Bayern Munich and Ajax practice match. Bayern trainer Julian Nagelsmann did not tackle twenty-year-old Schiedammer too hard afterwards.
Zirkzee bypassed goalkeeper Remko Pasveer and had the 2-1 for the tapping, but waited so long that Perr Schuurs could still intervene with an extreme effort. Nagelsmann hopes that Zirkzee shows a ‘different Seriositรคt’ when the season has actually started. โ€œI don‘t think it’s necessary to talk to him about this. He knows that he could have done better here,โ€ the trainer told us during the press conference.
The Orange youth international started Saturday in the back of competitor Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and eventually played against Ajax for an hour. The striker trained at ADO Den Haag and Feyenoord experienced a flying start in the Bayern main power at the end of 2019, with two goals in his first two races, but has since had to reconcile himself with a role in the shadow of Robert Lewandowski. During the past spring, Zirkzee played without having to score on a rental base for Serie A degradant Parma.
