Juventus takes into account a departure of Matthijs de Ligt and Kalidou Koulibaly has been named as a possible replacement. However, Napoli does not intend to let the Senegalese go and wants to go far to tempt him into a longer stay.
Koulibaly came over from KRC Genk in 2014 and started his last year of contract at Napoli. However, technical director Cristiano Giuntoli hopes to keep him inboard for years to come, until after his career. “We offered him six million net per season, plus an administrative position in the future. That is a huge offer of a total of sixty million, but that deserves Koulibaly”, he is quoted by the Italian press.
Giuntoli has not escaped the fact that the Senegalese is associated with rival Juventus. However, Napoli does not intend to let him go. “We didnt have to tell him that, because its not for sale.” Trainer Luciano Spalletti also counts on having Koulibaly at his disposal next season. “We already have an extra large captaincy waiting for him.”
Meanwhile, the game around De Ligt is in full swing. The centre-back is in good shape at Bayern Munich, where he can become a big earner. His current contract includes a lump sum of 120 million euros: Bayern does not want to pay that amount, but is expected to negotiate a lower transfer fee with the Italians.
Napoli director Giuntoli: “Koulibaly is key player for us. Theres no bid from any club. Weve offered him new deal for €6m net salary per season plus future role as part of the board”. 🚨🔵 #transfers “Its a huge proposal, €60m gross for Napoli – Koulibaly deserves it all”. pic.twitter.com/7REx1BxB5a
