Anyone aged 12 and over will soon be able to get a repeat shot against corona, says Health Minister Kuipers. From mid-September, people with a higher medical risk and care staff with patient contact will first receive an invitation. Then others can also make an appointment.
“The repeat shot against corona is necessary to maintain protection against serious illness and against mortality,” Kuipers writes in a letter to the House of Representatives. “The highlight of the corona crisis seems to be behind us and vaccination has made an important contribution to that.”
The cabinet is taking into account a new wave of corona in the autumn. The OMT vaccinations recommended starting a new round of punctures, to maintain protection against serious illness and mortality, to keep care accessible and to prevent social burdens due to staff breakdowns, for example.
