Studio Hive, the Japanese subsidiary of Koreas Vespa, obtained the rights from SEGA to develop the Shining Force series games. The first project has already been announced: Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness. The first Shining Force game in thirteen years will be an opportunistic mobile role-playing game devices, with bright characters and a built-in game store, presumably with gacha-mechanics.
It is due to be released in the first half of 2022 after beta test. The developers promise to bring their own unique worldview and setting-based storyline to the classic series series.
The new Shining Force should appeal to both those who have warm memories of the series and newcomers. The first game of the series, Shining in the Darkness, came out in 1991.
Until now, the newest part of the cycle remained Shining Force 3, which appeared in 1997-1998 as three scripts, but not all of them came outside Japan.
