News from Spain and Germany: Porto striker Toni Martínez in focus at Ajax

Ajax is looking for reinforcement for the peak position and has been working with Brian Brobbey and Joshua Zirkzee for some time. However, Spanish media AS and Mundo Deportivo and German Sky Sports report that Toni Martínez is also in the picture as successor to Sébastien Haller.
The 24-year-old Spaniard came out for FC Porto for the past two seasons. AS reports that Espanyol has the best papers, but that Ajax is also interested. According to Mundo Deportivo and Sky Sports, Hertha BSC and Ajax are the main candidates and the conversations between Ajax and the Martínez camp have already started.
Martínez has had a remarkable career path at an early age. As a youth player from Valencia, he left for West Ham United and later ended up in Portugal. In the 2019/2020 season, he scored ten times for Famalicão and earned a transfer of more than three million to FC Porto. There, he scored fifteen times in 64 games.
