Princess Amalia (17) will be imitated on Thursday evening on TV in the satirical program De tv canteen. But by whom? Theres been a lot of speculation in the media for a few days. “I think its Nikkie Tutorials,” says cabaret artist Richard Groenendijk about the 26-year-old YouTube star. In Hilversum the name of Najib Amhali (a) is buzzing.
Sensitive role, because less than 18
The new season of the satirical TV show starts tonight with a so-called visit to the Royal House. Several members of the royal family are imitated by well-known Dutch people, but it is still unclear who takes on the sensitive role of the Princess of Orange. Ultimately, she is a minor and it is known that her parents would not want to see her in public appearances until after her 18th birthday. It is therefore somewhat daring that Princess Amalia will be imitated, but Carlo Boszhard has promised that, given her age 17, she will not be ridiculed.
According to Groenendijk, who in the past created several types in the program, it is the well-known make-up artist and vlogster Nikkie who is actually called Nikkie de Jager.
“ At least its not me,” assures Groenendijk, who received this question before. One of those who did see him in that role was Justine Marcella, editor in chief of the monthly magazine Vorsten, who is also persisted in De tv canteen. “I think Princess Amalia is at least played by a man,” said the royalty connoisseur. “Just look at the hands in the picture, it could be.”

In the Hilversum corridors we talk about a spectacular alternative: cabaret artist Najib Amhali, who would thus become Princess Amhalia. However, the makers of De tv canteen keep their lips stiff together.
Carlo Boszhard plays Ivo Niehe
King Willem-Alexander is played by communication man Frits Huffnagel with Elise Schaap at his side as Queen Máxima. They are visited by Carlo Boszhard in the role of program-maker Ivo Niehe. Irene Moors acts as Princess Laurentien and Loretta Schrijver takes on the role of Princess Beatrix.
Asked as to whether it is appropriate for Princess Amalia to be imitated on TV, Gouda mayor Pieter Verhoeve, chairman of the Royal Association of Orange Associations, responds: “I cant say anything about it, because I havent seen it yet.”
The National Information Service says that it does not respond to the fact that Princess Amalia is persisted in the program.
The TV Kantine is on Thursday night at 20:30pm on RTL 4.
