‘No less than eight infections in A-selection AZ: Boadu lacks duel with Napoli’

AZ reported new infections in the player group Tuesday morning. It seems that striker Myron Boadu is one of the newly infected players within the selection of trainer Arne Slot.

This is reported by the Noordhollands Dagblad and DeccEit. According to DeccEit, it covers a total of eight players from the A-selection of Slot. Boadu was missing Tuesday morning on the final training before AZ leaves for Naples on Wednesday. Sources within the club confirm that the attack leader of AZ is one of the players who tested positive for the coronavirus this week, NHD knows.
Besides Boadu, the Norwegian midfielder Hakon Evjen appears to be infected. He also did not train Tuesday morning with the selection. Furthermore, Jordy Clasie, Ferdy Druijf and Timo Letschert seem to have to pass the duel with Napoli. Last weekend they could not play in the competition duel against VVV-Venlo (2-2).
Because of its privacy, AZ does not make any announcements about the infections. The club recognizes on its own site that new corona infections have been detected within the player group and that AZ is ‘in the process of an inventory of the extent of the infections’. Whether the duel with Napoli can continue at all is still uncertain.
