The Cabinet has resigned because of the payment affair. And it becomes demissionary. But in fact this is only for the stage, says Jan Muijs.
Because a demissionary cabinet retains its powers under the law of law, and that does not change so much. Only important things are then put on the long track. And in March there will be new elections which will automatically make the current cabinet demissionary.
So what a nonsense to put a point behind it right now and turn it all upside down. There‘s been enough regrets already. We know by now.
Ensure that the affected families are generously compensated – as a matter of urgency – and keep the finger on the pulse of the corona pandemic which is still taking on more serious forms. That’s what needs to be the focus now. That is the biggest point of attention at the moment.
