North Korea has reported its first coronavirus death, a day after the country first reported experiencing an outbreak. Another five more deaths may have had the disease among the members, but that has not yet been confirmed.
State news agency KCNA reports that 350,000 people with symptoms have been registered in the country since April. Currently, 187,800 people are being treated in isolation.
How the virus entered the highly isolated country is unknown. The country has now set a medical emergency. A national lockdown has also been announced.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited a command center to fight the outbreak last day. Footage of him with a face mask on was also shown on television for the first time.
