Perr Schuurs will be with the club management of Ajax sometime in the coming weeks. Then it becomes clear where the defenders future lies: in Amsterdam or elsewhere? Meanwhile, Schuurs is fighting hard for his chance.
It remains to be questioned whether Schuurs is a base player at Ajax this season. He was against Red Bull Salzburg, but Jurriën Timber is still on vacation and will normally take his spot.
“I have indicated often enough that I have to play every week at this age (22, ed.). We will have discussions in the coming weeks about what is best for me and what Ajax wants,” says Schuurs at Ziggo Sport.
“I spoke to the trainer (Alfred Schreuder, ed.) and it is not for nothing that Ajax does not want to let me go at all. Right now, Im confident and I need to show what I can do. Theres nothing more I can do. In the coming weeks, we will see if the situation changes,” says Schuurs, who still has a contract until 2025.
