Last week announced The Division: Hearthland – a spin-off of the well-known series, which was the first game under the Ubisoft Original program. As explained by the publisher, from now on all the projects of the internal teams of the French publishing house will be marked – but in fact, much is unlikely to change, since in recent years, the company has published overwhelmingly only projects of its own studios. Perhaps Ubisoft Original signals a potential partnership with third-party developers, but so far there are no prerequisites for this.
The publisher itself only notes that the marking will receive games of internal studios. It is noteworthy that many competitors of Ubisoft like Electronic Arts are just actively working with small independent developers – and EA program to support indie teams just is called EA Originals.
