Between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, 4924 positive corona-virussts were recorded. Thats less than Saturday, when 5471 positive tests were reported. The number of new coronavirus cases is slightly below the weekly average. Over the past seven days, the National Institute for Public Health and Environment (RIVM) received 36,685 reports of positive tests.
The cities where most new corona infections have been detected in the past 24 hours are Amsterdam (234), Rotterdam (128) and The Hague (98). Among the security regions, the Brabant-Zuidoost (350) and Utrecht (322) recorded the most positive corona-virus tests.
30 deaths from corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. There have been a lot more and more over the last few days. On Thursday, according to RIVM, there were 91 deaths and Wednesday 87. It does not mean that all of these people died in a period of 24 hours. When a coronapatient dies, it is sometimes passed after a while.
More coronation patients in hospital
The number of people admitted to hospitals with corona has increased in the last 24 hours. A total of 2343 patients with Covid-19 are now admitted, 41 more than a day earlier. This reports the National Centre for Patient Distribution (LCPS).
Of the enrolled patients with Covid-19, 676 are so sick that they are in intensive care, seven more than a day before. In nursing departments, the number of coronapatics increased by 34 over the past 24 hours to 1667, with
four Dutch coronapatics in the intensive care unit in Germany, the same number as Saturday.
The average number of recordings has been fairly stable over the past week. Therefore, the LCPS expects the declining trend in occupation to continue slowly. However, an increase is also taken into account because the British variant of the coronavirus is much more contagious than the current one, which can rapidly increase the number of infections and the inflow into hospitals.
