Game analyst Daniel Ahmad said official PlayStation 5 sales in China will start in the second quarter of 2021. These plans were reported by the president of the Shanghai office Tatsuo Eguchi and Vice Chairman Soeda Takehito in a special video timed to celebrate the Chinese new year. China did not was included in the list of the first countries where they started selling PS5 last November, so local stores ordered consoles from other countries.
Because of this, in some places, prices jumped as much as four times. Sony received a certificate to sell the console in China back in December – as did Microsoft for its Xbox Series.
Probably Xbox Series will officially launch on sale not much later than the PS5. Currently, Sony is working on obtaining software permissions.
Ahmad adds that online services at the local version of the PS5 will be sharpened under a regional “lock”. At the same time, PS4 sales in the country started in March 2015.
