Matthijs de Lit had to drop off Tuesday evening in the warming up of Juventus-Spezia (3-0) with an injury. The question was direct: are the World Cup qualifying duels for the Orange-International at risk?
His trainer Andrea Pirlo gave the answer: no. According to the Juventus trainer, the injury of De Ligcht is not easy. “Last weekend he got a slap against Hellas Verona and felt his calves stiff during the warm-up. It shouldn‘t be a serious injury, but we’ll test it tomorrow, of course,” he told the Italian media.
Juventus knocked Spezia without De Lijt with 3-0, goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet stayed on the bench at Spezia. Juventus remains the number 3 of Serie A, now with 7 points less than the leader Internazionale.
Orange will play on 24 March with Turkey. Three days later, the home game against Latvia follows. Both are qualifying matches for the World Cup in Qatar.
