FC Groningen goalkeeper Sergio Padt responded briefly to his collision with teammate Alessio Da Cruz during training. The closing post soon to the Bulgarian Ludogorets will not be too heavy, he told RTV Noord after the 1-0 victory at PEC Zwolle to RTV Noord.
Padt and Da Cruz got together on Friday and had to be taken apart by teammates. Da Cruz ran away angry, but trainer Danny Buijs quickly closed the lines after the ‘incident‘. “You say that right, little incident. It happens more often,” says Padt. “Now it happens a lot less, but ten years ago — when I was already in professional football (Go Ahead Eagles, red.) — it happened a few times a week.”
The goalkeeper thought it was strange that the local press turned out to be so good with the news. “The fact that there‘s something on Twitter again at six o’clock says more about you than about the incident,” he told the reporter on the scene. “The trainer has already explained this clearly, I think. Do I think it makes sense for something to appear about this? No, I don‘t think. But I’ll leave it at that.”
