Pasveer gets another chance from Van Gaal: ‘Have a feeling who will be first goalkeeper’

National coach Louis van Gaal has given text and explanation about his position against Belgium. The Orange is forced to start with three other players, while Remko Pasveer is allowed to stay below the bar.
Due to the injuries of Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay and Teun Koopmeiners, Van Gaal has to line up three other players against Belgium. The coach provides text and explanation to DecceIT. โ€œI think I have two players in each position. They are usually complementary to each other, but Koopmeiners and Berghuis are almost the same type of players. I can use a different kind of player there, but Id like to do that later.โ€
โ€œOur friend Frenkie de Jong, that
s where Marten de Roon plays and thats a completely different football player,โ€ Van Gaal continues. โ€œBut he can organize, including in the pressure forward. That is very important tonight. A young boy in the most important place in the team – that is the number 6 position – is too much responsibility on his shoulders. He can fill in, Ive taken that into account. This is about Kenneth Taylor. I also bet the third switch, Vincent Janssen for Memphis Depay, against Poland.โ€
After the game with Poland, Van Gaal was also a bit critical of Pasveer, but the Ajax goalkeeper will play his second international match against Belgium. โ€œAs a national coach, I try to look at the long term. Then you are looking for younger talents, not an older goalkeeper than the other goalkeepers. But yes, Pasveer delivers and then I also want to see him two games. Flekken, Cillessen and Bijlow also had that opportunity. Then I can get them used to the Orange shirt. Thats always harder than everyone thinks.โ€
Whoever gets to defend the goal at the World Cup does not want and cannot tell Van Gaal yet. โ€œI haven
t tied the knot yet about who will be my first goalkeeper at the World Cup, not at all. Two duels are too short for that and they also have to show it at their club. I do have a feeling and so does Frans Hoek. Its just not already certain.โ€
