Peace returned to AZ: ‘I let me hear, they can also be hard’

AZ defender Sam Beukema reveals that after the last league match against RKC Waalwijk (1-3 defeat) inside rooms, hard notes have been cracked. The Alkmaarders have reacted and are coming into action against Vitesse this week in the context of the final of the playoffs for European football.
In the last Eredivisie duels, AZ gave it away, preventing the team from placing itself directly for European football. Against sc Heerenveen in the semi-finals of the playoffs, the switch had to turn. โ€œWe told each other the truth in a team meeting. What we have discussed remains among us, but sometimes it is good to be hard and clear with each other,โ€ says Beukema in conversation with Voetbal International. โ€œThen I‘ll let myself be heard too. Boys are allowed to be tough on me, too.โ€
โ€œIf there is reason for that, I think that’
s only good,โ€ continues the centre-back that happened for this season of Go Ahead Eagles. โ€œI myself was calm in this area at the beginning at AZ. As a reserve player at a new club, you are not the designated person. But now that I play more often and am used to the club, I speak out more easily in the group. That will be accepted more quickly.โ€
AZ hits Vitesse on Thursday and Sunday. The winner of the diptych flows into the Conference League preliminaries.
