British actress Helen McCrory died at the age of 52 from cancer. Her husband, actor Damian Lewis, announced it on Twitter.
“ Deeply, I let you know that after a heroic fight with cancer, the beautiful and wonderful woman who is Helen McCrory died peacefully. At home, surrounded by love of friends and family,” writes Lewis.
McCrory has played in dozens of films and series since 1993. One of her most famous recent roles was the head of a crime family Polly Gray in the hit series Peaky Blinders. Another well-known role was that of Narcissa Malfoy in the last three Harry Potter films.
She also played roles in films such as Skyfall, Frankenstein and The Queen and series such as Penny Dreadful, Fearless and Roadkill.
In 2017, she received a royal award for her work when she was appointed an officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
In 2007, she married Homeland actor Damian Lewis. Together they had two children.
