PEC almost round with Medunjanin (37): transfer-free switch in the works

PEC Zwolle hopes to be able to arm Haris Medunjanin next week. The club is pretty much round with the 37-year-old Bosnian and can pick him up transfer-free at FC Cincinnati. Major League Soccer club is willing to let Medunjanin go despite an ongoing contract.
Medunjanin has a contract with Cincinnati until the end of this year, with an option on another year. For PEC, it was essential that he could leave America transfer-free and that seems to succeed. Medunjanin will play the farewell game against Philadelphia Union this Sunday, after which Cincinnati tears up his contract and the player comes to the Netherlands to sign with PEC.
Medunjanin went through AZ‘s youth school and, after being leased to Sparta, made the switch to Real Valladolid in Spain. That was in 2008, Medunjanin also wore Maccabi Tel Aviv, Gaziantepspor, Deportivo La Coruรฑa, Maccabi Tel Aviv again, Philadelphia Union and Cincinnati’s since 2020. He became European champion with the Dutch Junior (under Foppe de Haan). Medunjanin then played sixty times for the Bosnian national team.
