Perez praises Ajax, but amazes himself: ‘Peter Bosz must slap himself in the head’

After one match against BSC Young Boys, Ajax is almost in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, saw Kenneth Perez. The Danish analyst found Ajax to play very well, but was amazed at the level of the opponent from Switzerland.
Young Boys had worked quite well in the previous round with two victories at Bayer Leverkusen. โ€œA very good second half of Ajax, lord and master. But how did Leverkusen ever lose to this?โ€ , said Perez during the review on ESPN. โ€œAjax was good, too. But did you see anything at Young Boys? That you think, yes… I do understand that one day they can do something. Young Boys is an organization, hard work: theres nothing wrong with that, if only I had. But its just not enough if you want to reach a certain level.โ€
In the previous round, Young Boys had unpacked against Bayer Leverkusen, the number five of the Bundesliga: 4-3 in Bern, 0-2 in the BayArena. โ€œPeter Bosz (Bayer Leverkusens trainer, red.) really has to beat himself in the head: how did we let this happen over two races? That said, the goalkeeper (David von Ballmoos, who was missing against Ajax, red.) had a very big role in that.โ€
The number one from Switzerland and Ajax will replay in Bern on Thursday 18 March. Ajax is allowed to defend a 3-0 head start from 21:00.
