Pieter Heerma will again be the chairman of the political group of the CDA in the House of Representatives. The members of the group have chosen him unanimously before Christmas, a spokesperson confirms a message from EenVandaag.
According to the spokesperson, that election was not brought out, because the group wants to make the transfer of the chairman hammer only after the sworn in of the new cabinet.
Now Wopke Hoekstra is officially the chairman of the political group of the Christian Democrats, but he leaves the House and becomes Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister in the new cabinet. He remains the political leader of the party.
Heerma (44) was also chairman of the CDA in the previous cabinet period. He took over from Sybrand van Haersma Buma, when that mayor of Leeuwarden became.
In addition to Heerma, Raymond Knopss name also went around. He is a missionary secretary of state for the interior, but for him there is no place in the new cabinet. He was elected in the House of Representatives.
